This Privacy Policy explains how Dimewise collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Dimewise mobile application.

Dimewise is a personal finance app that helps you record transactions, manage categories and ledgers, review charts, set reminders, and optionally sync or analyze images you provide.

## Information We Collect

### 1. Information you enter in the app

When you use Dimewise, the app may store information you create or import, including:

- transaction records
- categories, ledgers, and account names
- notes, descriptions, dates, amounts, and currency selections
- recurring reminder settings
- imported finance data files

This information is used to provide the core finance tracking features of the app.

### 2. Account and authentication information

If you create an account or sign in, Dimewise may process:

- name
- email address
- password
- one-time verification codes
- authentication session data

If you choose social sign-in, your authentication provider may share basic account information needed to sign you in, such as your account identifier, name, or email address.

### 3. Images and files you choose to provide

If you use receipt or screenshot analysis, or import/export features, Dimewise may access files or images you explicitly choose, including:

- images selected from your photo library
- images shared to the app from other apps
- images provided through iOS Shortcuts
- files selected for import
- files generated for export

Image content is used only to perform the requested analysis or file operation.

### 4. Device and app storage

To operate correctly, Dimewise stores data on your device using local app storage, including secure storage for authentication-related data and local database storage for finance records and settings.

### 5. Notification data

If you enable reminders, Dimewise stores notification schedules and related reminder content on your device so scheduled alerts can be delivered.

## How We Use Information

We use information to:

- provide expense, income, ledger, category, and asset tracking features
- save your settings and app preferences
- authenticate your account
- sync your data when you choose to use account-based sync features
- analyze images you submit to create draft transactions
- import and export your data
- schedule and manage reminder notifications
- maintain app security and reliability

## When Information Is Shared

Dimewise does not sell your personal information.

Information may be transmitted to a server or service provider only when needed to provide a feature you use, such as:

- account sign-up, sign-in, session handling, or verification
- optional sync between your device and the Dimewise service
- image analysis requests you explicitly initiate

Information may also be handled by platform or infrastructure providers that support app functionality, such as authentication, hosting, notifications, storage, or app framework services.

## Local Storage and Sync

Dimewise is designed to store finance data locally on your device. Some features may also send selected data to the Dimewise backend when you sign in and use sync-enabled functionality.

If you do not use account or sync features, much of the app can continue to function using local device storage.

## Permissions

Dimewise may request access to the following, depending on the features you use:

- Photos: to let you select receipt or screenshot images for analysis
- Files and documents: to import data or export files
- Notifications: to deliver recurring transaction reminders

These permissions are optional in the sense that they are only needed for the related feature.

## Data Retention

Data stored locally remains on your device until you delete it, remove the app, or clear app data.

Server-side account or sync data may be retained for as long as needed to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

## Security

Dimewise uses reasonable measures designed to protect information processed by the app. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

## Children's Privacy

Dimewise is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

## International Use

If you use Dimewise from outside the country where related services are operated, your information may be processed in other jurisdictions.

## Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after an update means the updated policy will apply.
